Volopa

Description

As the lead designer, I directed Volopa's brand and app overhaul, which led to an impressive 4400% increase in user sign-ups. With the application of cutting-edge UX methodologies and tools, this transformation was rooted in engaging, data-driven, user-centric design and the creation of a dual-tier brand identity.

Problem

Volopa was grappling with outdated branding and a lack of clear segmentation between their Consumer and Business customers, hindering engagement and their overall market presence.

Streamlining Luxury: This intuitive sign-up interface I designed for Automobile Club Villars embodies effortless elegance, welcoming new high-net-worth members with ease and sophistication.

As the lead designer, I spearheaded the revolutionary transformation of Volopa - morphing an outdated, 2000's-style brand into a dynamic, contemporary powerhouse. The brand's metamorphosis wasn't just aesthetic - it was strategic. We divided the brand into two distinct segments, Volopa Consumer and Volopa Business, offering tailor-made experiences to unique demographics. This pioneering approach showcased our capacity to build a unified brand identity while addressing specific user needs.

In the realm of app design, me and my small team were ambitious and forward-thinking. We translated abstract concepts into tangible user experiences, most notably with the real-time currency exchange feature. This visually stunning, data-driven tool made the card usage a fun and engaging process, distinguishing Volopa in the marketplace. Our application of an empathetic design approach optimised user journey, leading to an intuitive sign-up process for the Volopa card. Throughout this, we used an array of top-tier design tools including Adobe XD, Sketch, and Notion, ensuring the highest standard of work.

Navigating the uncertain aesthetic preferences of the client, we initiated extensive A/B testing, utilising various UX research methods, such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing. This data-driven approach led to the formation of an appealing, robust brand look and feel, satisfying both the client and target users.

Moreover, the brand refresh extended beyond aesthetics. It included the creation of a logo that transcends language - a visual representation that encapsulates Volopa's brand essence of free-flowing, upwards movement. This venture was accomplished through collaborative brainstorming sessions, thoughtful iteration, and a deep understanding of semiotics in design.

Within the year after this successful rebrand, Volopa saw a 4400% increase in sign-ups, a true testament to the quality of the design and it's impact.

This project showcased my ability to manage a design team, coordinate with stakeholders, and employ advanced UX methodologies to deliver outstanding results. From start to finish, our efforts ensured Volopa's transformation was not just a surface-level rebrand, but a comprehensive, user-centric, and data-informed revolution.
